Roots - Sally and Clara Ermann - Deportation
My grandparents were deported to Theresienstadt in 1942. Opa did not survive long and died on 27th September that year. Oma passed away on 23rd May 1944.
Their dates of death were obtained in 1958 from a special Registry Office in Arolson (near Kassel) Germany, where the Swiss Red Cross had set up an International Tracing Service. Death certificates were issued there and copies sent to the Regierungs prësident Wiesbaden, where all restitution claims were processed, to my lawyer and myself.
