Rachel d.o.b. 1948
29th July 1956
(aged 8)

Dear Rita,

Today unfortunately, I have to give you very sad news. Rachel passed away a month ago.
Although she was carefully examined, nothing was found wrong with her, but at the post mortem it was discovered that she had an enlarged heart. If we had found out earlier nothing much could have been done.

Don’t ask me how I feel. Absolutely lost and nothing seems to have much point just now. I hope time will help.

I can’t write much yet; one day I shall tell you more fully.

At the end of August we’re moving to our new house at (***), Wembley Park. Please address your future letters there. I will be at this present flat until that time.

I hope you and your family are well and happy.

If you have a moment please write.

Yours with love

Lore
