Dear Bossy Love,

In a few hours time – that is about lunchtime – we shall be on our way to Manchester.

Yesterday we had a hectic day rushing around in circles. We were “taken for a ride” in the (unintelligible) style and it cost us £3 – we had to take a taxi which went all over the midlands from Darlaston where we went to see (unintelligible, unintelligible, unintelligible) to Wellington – where we went to see Lanky. We passed through some of the country around Stratford and Pappi saw some of the beauty of England.

Well, Partner, the business is going on slowly, but the “old boy” seems to be pleased to meet the people he has been dealing with for many years and they have been quite nice to us – promising to get him some stuff which is more or less unobtainable. As you can well imagine we are running short of funds but might manage to get some L.S.D. from here and there until we come back.

How are things at home and have we got a HOME or has it been another wild goose chase?

As usual, I am writing from the Post office – just before we have to see the Export Manager of (unintelligible) and Lloyds – he (Pappi) wants (unintelligible) and we need all the luck in the world to get some. So keep your fingers crossed.

Shall be seeing you soon but don’t know whether we can manage to come back before next Saturday. I shall keep you informed. My love – to MY LOVE, Yours Boss.
