Bossy –

This is a business note to let you know we are O.K.

Tomorrow we are going on to Manchester. Here the factories are all very nice but are offering nothing at all for the present. Apparently the Government has cut down all iron, metal and steel for export and we are having a pretty thin time with promises for the future, but on the other hand what we do get will be just right because of the general shortage in the world.

I am writing to you from the post office, where we have stopped for a few seconds.

You probably (unintelligible) of Lanky-Sheldon. Anyhow he is coming to fetch us this morning and take us to the factory to see what they have ready for delivery.

How successful we shall be in Manchester I don’t know. Anyhow to make sure of a room there we wrote to the Rabbi for whom Pappi is buying the bibles – you remember.

Look here, old pal, how is you getting on? I hope you are taking a good rest and (unintelligible) your (unintelligible) by now. I know that looking after Confinos is no easy matter and your zest will just about last you out for the few days Pappi will stay in London on our return before he starts back. Now then – how is your loving aunt and how is the flat-question getting on? Got a place or do I reserve a bench in Hyde Park?

All my love funny face and do look after yourself. I am longing to see that (unintelligible) – if that is how it is spelled, Yours Boss.
