Dearest Bossy and kids,
This is the very first opportunity of saying a few words to you. We flew in on Thursday and the burial was on Friday. I will tell you all in detail on getting back. Tomorrow is the (unintelligible) Independence Day and a holiday and I must catch the post to tell you that I am trying to get back next Saturday or Sunday -12th/13th. There are difficulties in getting the tickets changed and I cannot confirm at present day or time of arrival. Here everything, under the circumstances, is as well as can be expected. I trust and pray that everything at home is getting properly organised and I do feel very acutely the separation. All here send you their love and expressions/condolences. We are with Tantes (unintelligible) and Dora TIDAR. Everybody wants to see pictures of the family and I hope you will send some pictures to Dora to show all.
We are fine – Mordi and Matty and I and all the (unintelligible). Mother did suffer but thankfully not for long. They tried to keep her alive for me to kiss her hand, but that was not to be as she passed away at about 5 p.m. and I did not arrive till 2 hours later. Things are always arranged in (unintelligible) here with great difficulty and I am very happy that in England with all the troubles and problems life is a lot easier.
How is David? Thank him for me for all his trouble (6 long letters with his eyes. Simon has been spoken for by tante (unintelligible) for her grand daughter and John, I hope, has got his result. Did (unintelligible) sit his O level after all and how did it go? I expect to hear from you before I leave for home.
Please kiss the children for me.
Yours Der Boss
