Darling Sweetheart,
So here we are again at this letter writing business. It’s a damn damn shame but quoi faire? It was hard to let you go again so soon. Now I am picturing you sitting in some posh hotel, being served a delicious meal, and maybe, there is somebody playing ‘Laura’ for you. Nobody is playing anything for me but if I cared to look across at Brulov’s, there is a party going on there and everybody is stepping on everybody’s feet. Added to that is the din at the Gan Rina and some children celebrating somewhere – so you see the chorus of the wild is in full swing.
I have just typed the letter for Wechsler. There was also a letter for me from (unintelligible) telling me that Mrs (unintelligible) is coming on the 9th. She is arriving in Haifa on board the La Guardia, and I do hope I am not expected to meet her. Don’t think so, somehow.
I took the children out today for a long walk. It was a beautiful day, only I didn’t feel too good on account of the usual, which will save me a visit to Daniel. Hurrah for the Reader’s Digest!!
I do hope I packed everything for you. I’m afraid I wasn’t up to scratch this time. Don’t forget to bring back the towel because the others are tearing to shreds. Soon we won’t be able to dry ourselves any more. It wouldn’t do any harm to bring back half a dozen.
Matty’s parcels arrived and are a very welcome addition. She also wrote a letter, all about Liki on account of her birthday and she wants your father to buy a present in her name. They are all coming over next year to celebrate Hashmo’s Barmitzva.
The baby woke up at 5 o’clock this morning, it being Saturday! , and said (unintelligible) porridge (unintelligible). You can imagine how delighted I was. And Liki, who was very naughty yesterday, and was warned by me that there wouldn’t be a present if she didn’t improve, told me to get a plane, to find her daddy for her, and to bring him with a present. You see what a materialist she is. I wonder whom she is taking after!
Hoping this letter will reach you before your return, I remain, dearest beloved stinkeroo, yours ever loving and faithful,
Bossy.
P.S. Rebecca came this morning with a most awful finger. Refuses to see a doctor. Said Liki scratched, bit and hit her last week when we went out.
