Darling love,
How are you? Are you enjoying yourself and are you missing me?
I’ve had one of the laziest days imaginable. In the morning I was bathed by my daughter. Then, when we all looked clean and respectable, we went downstairs and I went by myself to Malchi’s. Rachel’s father died and I wanted to tell her how sorry we were. I think it would be a good idea if you dropped her a line. She greeted me in a bright red dressing gown and as there was very little sign of mourning – (unintelligible) doesn’t give one a chance anyway – it was not as sorrowful a visit as I had expected it to be. When I came back Baby was downstairs. He sends his regards and hopes you are being a good boy. Your mother had cooked a most delicious meal and I must say food tastes different if one doesn’t have to prepare it oneself – even though it be saltless. The early afternoon we spent chin-wagging and later on tea-drinking and then I put the children to bed. Incidentally Malchi says if I can’t get Liki into that Gan I should let him know as he knows the husband of the owner very well. This evening it is raining and after I have eaten I shall go to bed and read the new copy of the Times. Won’t you be jealous!
I read in the local paper that among the three most likely successors of Bevan is Patrick Gordon Walker. He is either making a name for himself by leaps and bounds or they must be very short of top-ranking people.
Liki is always asking after you and when I entered the children’s room with the Jerusalem Post in my hand, the baby immediately shouted daddy.
Ruth’s mother is leaving next Wednesday and I shall try to see her again before her departure.
How do you find Matty and the children? Please give them all my love. I shall try and write tomorrow. Was everybody happy with the presents? I’ve bought Liki a two-couponed apron. It’s got a pocket right in the middle and it pleases her enormously. It will save me a lot of washing. She is still walking around with that hat.
Well sweetheart this is all for tonight.
I love you and leave you,
Bossy
